On Thursay 28 August 2014, the READ to RISE team visited Liesbeeck Primary School in Portland in Mitchells Plain to read with 120 Grade 2 learners at 3 classes. Despite the rain, our Readers were still eager to read to the little ones and we even spotted a rainbow! The children were excited to get their very own copy of OAKY AND THE SUN to take home. Readers, Kevin, Aaron, Nicholas, Roscoe, Nuraan and Taryn did a great job reading with the children and teaching them about the parts of a tree and how an acorn grows to become a big oak tree.
